Our mission at Global City Unity is to showcase the world’s effort for change while serving our youth and communities as a whole. We are principled in the knowledge that to change a community requires self-development, business creation, employment, and training opportunities within the community. We will utilize multimedia networking systems to help create change on our various component areas, while incorporating mentorship opportunities in a safe and positive environment for the undeserved communities and talented youth population. Global City Unity understands the corporation is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes
Global City Unity will start as a Professional Resource/Referral Community Outreach Center that provides outreach ministry and training for media and television programming for local youth and the communities we serve. We also provide opportunities for community-based organizations to participate in our television and outreach ministry programs. We are networking with community development centers, churches and other organizations to rebuild a better community for people of all ages and ethical backgrounds. We feel that together we are better when were connected to serve our communities as a whole.
One of the Goals of Global City Unity is to enhance the community’s family and educational lifestyles with coordinated services and programs to address community needs. We will act as a community foundation for residence to bring programs and services for Global City Unity to facilitate these programs or services in the community. We feel that each individual is “The Missing Link” to help rebuild our communities in “God’s Created Universe”.

Global City Unity (G.C.U.) provides people with authentic experiences that engage your mind, your body, and your heart. Our core markets are people who appreciate the arts and are interested in an alternative to the typical “commercial” arts experience. We will have outreach programming for our under-served communities featuring live entertainment and festivals appealing to a more vast audience.
We have a solid direction and we are positioned as the premier source of performing arts in Chicago. Therefore our marketing focus will be on these benefits of participating in our media programs that impact the young people and families in our community. Our involvement will be in the diverse areas where we can bring positive development, education, and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to assist the Chicago-land areas in becoming productive citizens by providing a learning and work environment where they feel challenged, respected, and accountable as they strive to meet the demands of our neighborhood.
CANN TV (COMCAST) is proud to be the premier venue of this valuable experience. The most recent program we have developed is our helping hands TV Showcase’s which artists can use this experience to continue to develop their skills. Global City Unity consists of artists, business professionals, organizations with an insight on community development with strategically allows our talent to become leaders in their endeavors. Also including dance, fashion, acting and much more! We are looking to expand the program further by developing the program into the operation of a NFP business. Specifically, by launching this program we offer the great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and, acquire entrepreneurial business skills and achieves a real sense of accomplishment.
However, major challenges face Global City Unity in the future. These include the need to:
1. Fund the programs
2. Employ additional staff
Each area of need will be strategically matched with a potential donor or sponsor;the areas of fundraising include fundraising events, hiring fundraising professionals, and sponsorship agreements, as well as research of other operations. As always, there will be volunteers in several capacities, and the Volunteer Board will play a big part in organizing this area. They each will have a role in managing an area of volunteer duties. As the time comes closer to development, the team will be in place, ready for the bigger project, with potential managers in line for paid positions as they are needed. Donations of products and services are the basis for our financial planning with conservative estimates for revenue and expenses. We are committed to consistent growth of our cash balances through prudent management of our expenses. Our focus will be on remaining profitable year to year, while also building adequate membership development and growth is a means to provide recurring revenue. Participation in Global City Unity will have many benefits, and by extending an impressive value proposition at all levels, we expect to quickly expand.
The founding board member is uniquely qualified to bring this project to fruition. George Owens, Executive Director. In addition to the founding board members, our CEO is comprised of a diverse group of individuals including composers, promoters, and producers, business professional and Chicago-based advocates. There are also Volunteers in many areas such as: Ticket contributions,Products and Services, Sales Marketing/Printing,Public Relations&Production.
The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of this endeavor continue to work toward providing a quality experience in the most effective and efficient manner possible with optimism for the future of this program. We want to finance growth solely through cash flow. Included in the mission will be special consideration for the cultural diversity of Chicago. G.C.U. will be a base to utilize, and discover. It’s also a workplace of inclusion and respect, with a focus on the development of creativity and ideas of Global City Unity’s creative programming utilizing the uniqueness of Illinois and its outstanding sense of marketing specialty has been success with collaboration with other cultural institutions, business, and organizations.
We are planning marketing campaigns, and will offer general informational on-site outreach to all interested groups. Global City Unity has begun an extensive fundraising campaign to provide our initial start-up costs. Our current work includes the development of prospect lists of persons who may be interested in providing a financial donation, the solicitation of support from corporations and the local business community,
Approximately 60% of our annual revenue will be generated by a combination of admissions, retail contributions, and related activities. The remainder of our funding will be generated by:
• The donations of individuals, corporations, and small businesses.
• An annual large scale benefit concert, family benefits, and special events.
• A variety of small scale fundraising activities.
We anticipate that we will be able to creatively manage our consumable expenses through the pursuit of in-kind donations from businesses and individuals, and inexpensive means of purchasing.
In conclusion we would like to thank you for participating in our events and The Tapping of G.C.U. Showcases and are excited to be a part of the team.
